047r

A website for a fictional fashion, art and politics magazine, "047R — Fashion, art, politics and the noise in between. Since 2004." Black, white and one rust accent, Besley serif headlines over Azeret Mono labels. It opens on black: five full-height photo frames open from the vertical centre line, one after another, into a stack with stepped side margins, and the top story writes itself in word by word, its headline opening from the middle. Each story stays three seconds while a pagination bar counts down, then the bottom photo opens over the top as the next one; the side quarters page back and forward, the middle opens the story, and the frames at the sides lean towards the cursor. Below, a sticky sort and category bar and a grid of square tiles, the newest one large, where three bands (black title, grey category, rust "Read >") drop from the top edge on hover. Opening a story turns the page like a book: three blank leaves and then the article open from the centre line over the old page, with a sticky photo, meta, headline and the text paragraph by paragraph; between articles only the story turns, under a sticky previous / next pager. At the end of every page a black footer unfolds upwards on a spring, with a newsletter field and a giant rust wordmark. Every movement runs on one physical spring sampled into a CSS linear() easing. Includes thirteen articles with full text, AI-generated photos in three widths, smooth scrolling, reduced-motion support and a phone layout.
